About Me
Hi everyone. I am Mrs. Hilarides and I will be your English 4 teacher this year. This will be my fifth year teaching here at Harper Creek and my sixth year teaching overall. I teach English 2, English 3, English 4, and Reading for Enjoyment this year but I have taught all of the other required English classes here at Harper Creek before.
I am originally from Shelby Township, Michigan. I went to Eisenhower High School and graduated in 2005. While in high school, I was on student council, I was vice-president of my senior class, I was on National Honors Society, and I played golf and did cheerleading. I tried to be as involved with my school as possible while in high school.
After high school I attended Michigan State University. I majored in English and minored in teaching English to speakers of other languages. I graduated in 2009 with a bachelors of arts in English. I then went on to complete my student teaching at Utica High School. I was hired the following school year and taught there for the first year of my career.
After my first year of teaching, I moved to Battle Creek to teach here at Harper Creek. At the school I am a teacher but I am also the student council adviser and am a member of our school improvement team.
Outside of school I like to spend my time reading, running, gardening, skiing, going out on my family's boat and jet skis, and spending time with my parents, two brothers, four sister-in-laws, niece and nephew, and most importantly my husband and son.
